Supply Chain Manager – Manufacturing

Davalyn Corporation has been retained to recruit a Supply Chain Manager for a well-established global industrial manufacturer. This position will lead plant-level supply chain activities within a materials intensive manufacturing environment, with responsibility for production planning, materials management, inventory optimization, on time delivery, working capital, and continuous improvement.
We are seeking a hands on supply chain leader with experience in metals, steel, foundry, refractory, ceramics, engineered materials, or other heavy/process manufacturing environments. The successful candidate will understand the complexities of managing raw materials through production and work-in-process to finished goods while balancing inventory investment with manufacturing and customer requirements.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead plant supply chain and materials activities spanning raw materials, WIP, finished goods, production scheduling, inventory, and warehouse operations
- Manage and develop the master scheduling and raw materials planning functions
- Drive improvements in on time delivery (OTD), schedule performance, inventory accuracy, material availability, and customer responsiveness
- Optimize raw material and finished goods inventory while balancing production requirements, lead times, service levels, and working capital
- Monitor and improve supply chain performance related to inventory levels, scrap, working capital, material utilization, and delivery
- Improve material movement and plant logistics across raw material storage, production, WIP, warehousing, and finished goods
- Apply Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, Kanban, and material flow principles to reduce waste, excess inventory, unnecessary handling, and lead times
- Support improvements involving WMS, ERP systems, warehouse automation, material handling, and storage systems
- Partner closely with manufacturing operations, procurement, production, warehouse, and broader supply chain teams
- Lead improvement initiatives involving planning, scheduling, inventory strategy, intralogistics, and warehouse operations
Preferred Background:
- Supply chain, materials management, production planning, or related leadership experience within a manufacturing plant
- Experience within steel, metals, foundry, refractory, ceramics, advanced materials, engineered materials, metal processing, automotive, industrial equipment, specialty chemicals, or similar process/heavy manufacturing environments
- Strong understanding of raw material inventory, WIP, finished goods, production planning, master scheduling, and material flow
- Demonstrated success improving inventory levels, working capital, OTD, lead times, schedule attainment, or inventory turns
- Experience leading master schedulers, production schedulers, materials planners, or related supply chain personnel
- Knowledge of manufacturing scrap, yield, material utilization, and inventory control
- Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, Kanban, warehouse optimization, and material-flow improvement
- Experience with WMS and ERP systems; SAP and/or JDE experience is especially relevant
- Exposure to warehouse automation, automated material handling, rack-storage systems, or related technologies is beneficial
- Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities with the ability to work across manufacturing, operations, procurement, and supply chain
- Adaptable and energetic leadership style suited to a complex, changing plant environment
- Lean Six Sigma, APICS CPIM, CSCP, or related certification is a plus
Compensation & Relocation:
- Base salary: $120,000–$140,000, depending on experience
