We are partnering with a well-established, growth-oriented manufacturer in the precision cutting tools space to identify a Regional Sales Manager to lead and expand a high-performing territory in the U.S. This is a strong opportunity for a proven cutting tool salesperson or applications professional ready to step into field sales leadership, as well as for an existing sales manager looking for a platform with significant upside.

This role offers a clear path to advancement, with the opportunity to build and scale a regional sales team, expand market share, and drive revenue growth across a diverse base of CNC machining, metalworking, and manufacturing customers.

The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for managing an established, multi-million-dollar territory with significant growth potential, overseeing both direct sales representatives and manufacturer’s representatives, and driving growth in round tooling (carbide cutting tools and PCD/diamond cutting tools). The role is heavily focused on round tooling, supporting applications across milling, drilling, and high-performance machining environments. This individual will play a key role in developing people, growing territory revenue, and expanding the sales organization from a small team into a larger, scalable structure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a regional sales team consisting of direct sales reps and independent manufacturers’ reps
  • Drive revenue growth across key industries including aerospace, automotive, medical, and general machining
  • Develop and execute sales strategy, territory planning, and account growth initiatives
  • Recruit, train, and mentor new sales talent to expand the team from 3 to 6+ representatives over time
  • Provide technical sales support and collaborate with customers on tooling selection, optimization, and productivity improvements
  • Work closely with CNC programmers, machinists, and manufacturing engineers to deliver value-added solutions
  • Analyze performance metrics including sales volume, margin, and market penetration
  • Strengthen relationships with distributors, end users, and channel partners

Technical & Industry Background:

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience from the shop floor and a deep understanding of machining processes, including:

  • Experience working in or closely with CNC machine shops, job shops, or production machining environments
  • Strong knowledge of cutting tools, including solid carbide, indexable tooling, and PCD/diamond tooling
  • Understanding of feeds and speeds, tooling geometry, carbide grades, coatings, and tool life optimization
  • Practical experience with tool setup, tool holding, and running machining operations (milling, drilling, turning)
  • Ability to speak credibly with machinists, programmers, and manufacturing engineers

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Current Regional Sales Manager, Territory Manager, or Senior Sales Engineer in cutting tools, metalworking, or industrial tooling
  • This could be a great move for a high-performing cutting tool salesperson or applications engineer ready to step into their first leadership role
  • Demonstrated success in technical sales within CNC machining, tooling, or metal removal
  • Proven ability or strong potential to hire, coach, and scale a sales team
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to grow territory revenue and build market share
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and commercial stakeholders

Compensation & Opportunity:

  • Base Salary: $120,000 – $130,000
  • Total W-2 Expected: $140,000 – $150,000+
  • Proven, revenue-generating territory with immediate impact and expansion opportunity
  • Opportunity to lead and expand across multiple open territories
  • Clear path for career advancement into senior leadership

This is a high-impact role for someone who understands cutting tool applications, CNC machining, and metalworking sales, and is ready to take the next step into sales leadership and team development.
