Davalyn Corporation has been retained to fill a CNC Production Supervisor position in Syracuse, NY.

This is a full-time position.

Our client produces machined parts by setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) milling machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Using blueprint or process sheet, set up jobs and operates one or more of a variety of multi axis CNC milling machines/tools
  • At specified frequencies, uses a variety of hand inspection tools to compare part dimensions with blueprint or process and record data
  • Monitors tooling for wear and breakage and replaces it as necessary
  • Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
  • Plans stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available; anticipating needed stock; placing and expediting orders for stock; verifying receipt of stock
  • Enters instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs
  • Sets-up mills by installing and adjusting tooling and attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers, indicating vices etc
  • Maintains specifications by observing milling, taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Trains CNC Machinist employees as needed
  • Adheres to all safety policies and practices, consistently uses personal protective equipment, and practices good housekeeping
  • Maintains regular on time attendance and adheres to company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct
  • Applies classroom and on the job post training information, knowledge, skills, and abilities consistently in a quality-oriented manner (wherein the KSAs are part of the jobs tasks, duties and other tasks as requested)
  • Performs other tasks as directed including deburring parts and performing other operations during cycle

Educational, Experience Based, and Skill Qualifications:

  • Technical, BOCES, or high school graduate with two (2) years’ experience in set-up and operation of CNC vertical and horizontal machine centers or equivalent
  • Ability to read prints, diagram, and use micrometer, verniers, calipers, and gauges
  • Strong machining background – experience with machine tooling (CNC Machine Tools, Metalworking, Diamond or High Speed Steel Cutting Tools, Indexible Carbide Tooling, Solid Carbide, Threading, Grooving, Turning, Lathes, Milling, Drilling, Reaming, High Speed End Mills, Drills, etc.)

Our client offers a base salary of $70,000 plus full benefits.
