Outside Sales Representative – Metals & Industrial Manufacturing

A well-established and growing metal foundry is seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative to expand business throughout an established territory. This is an outstanding opportunity for a consultative sales professional with experience in the metals or industrial manufacturing industries who enjoys developing new business, managing customer relationships, and providing value-added solutions to manufacturers.
This position offers the opportunity to work with a broad range of industrial customers while representing a respected leader in metal manufacturing and processing.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop new business while expanding existing customer relationships throughout your assigned territory.
- Call on precision machine shops, CNC contract manufacturers, job shops, screw machine shops, tool & die companies, metal stamping operations, sheet metal fabricators, fabrication shops, foundries, die casting companies, investment casting companies, forging operations, wire & cable manufacturers, electronics manufacturers, OEMs, contract manufacturers, metal service centers, steel distributors, and industrial processors.
- Build relationships with plant managers, manufacturing engineers, production managers, operations leaders, maintenance managers, purchasing professionals, commodity buyers, procurement managers, owners, and executives.
- Identify opportunities involving manufacturing scrap, recycled metals, metal recovery, production by-products, specialty alloys, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, copper, brass, bronze, aluminum, stainless steel, nickel alloys, cobalt alloys, precious metals, gold, silver, palladium, and other value-added metal products.
- Consult with customers regarding metal procurement, raw material requirements, manufacturing scrap, production waste streams, recycled materials, specialty alloys, and material supply solutions.
- Conduct customer visits, plant tours, technical discussions, product demonstrations, and sales presentations.
- Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing and commercial agreements, manage sales opportunities, and consistently achieve territory growth objectives.
- Partner with operations, production, quality, logistics, and customer service teams to deliver exceptional customer support and long-term account growth.
We’re Interested in Candidates with Experience Selling:
- Specialty alloys, master alloys, copper alloys, brass, bronze, aluminum, stainless steel, nickel alloys, cobalt alloys, high-temperature alloys, precious metals, engineered metal products, or foundry products.
- Metal recycling services, scrap metal procurement, recycled metals, manufacturing scrap, production by-products, ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, secondary metals, metal recovery, or industrial recycling services.
- CNC machine tools including machining centers, vertical machining centers (VMCs), horizontal machining centers (HMCs), CNC lathes, Swiss-type lathes, turning centers, milling machines, grinding equipment, EDM equipment, fabrication equipment, lasers, press brakes, or other metalworking machinery.
- Cutting tools including carbide tooling, solid carbide tooling, indexable tooling, inserts, drills, end mills, reamers, taps, boring tools, toolholders, workholding, cutting tool systems, tooling packages, or machining process solutions.
- Metalworking fluids including coolants, cutting oils, soluble oils, industrial lubricants, rust preventatives, cleaners, industrial chemicals, or metalworking consumables.
- Refractory products including crucibles, furnace linings, refractory brick, castables, graphite products, silicon carbide products, ceramic materials, insulation products, or other high-temperature process materials.
- Wire & cable materials, electronic materials, industrial raw materials, industrial consumables, metal processing products, or value-added manufacturing solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Outside sales, territory sales, account management, business development, or technical sales experience within the metals or industrial manufacturing industries.
- Experience calling on machine shops, fabrication shops, foundries, metal recyclers, metal service centers, OEM manufacturers, wire & cable manufacturers, electronics manufacturers, or industrial processing facilities.
- Working knowledge of machining, fabrication, casting, foundry operations, melting, metal processing, manufacturing operations, industrial production, or materials engineering.
- Proven success developing new business while growing strategic customer accounts.
- Strong consultative selling, relationship management, communication, presentation, negotiation, and territory management skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, manage a territory, and build long-term customer partnerships.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base Salary: $75,000–$100,000
