We are hiring a strategic and technically experienced Sales Manager to lead sales of carbide cutting tools and diamond cutting tools used in woodworking and composite material machining across a variety of industries. This role is responsible for supporting customers in furniture manufacturing, sawmills, architectural millwork shops, custom woodworkers, cabinetmakers, and aerospace composite machining operations.
You’ll work with manufacturers that cut a broad range of materials, including solid wood, engineered wood products, and advanced composites such as carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP), glass fiber (GFRP), Kevlar®, and high-performance thermoplastics like PEEK, PEKK, and PPS — all common in aerospace applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sell and support a portfolio of industrial cutting tools, including PCD (polycrystalline diamond) and carbide cutting tools for use in machining wood, laminates, MDF, plywood, and composite materials
- Manage and grow customer relationships across a wide spectrum of users including furniture manufacturers, sawmills, millwork contractors, custom cabinetry shops, carpenters, wood product fabricators, and aerospace composite manufacturers
- Provide hands-on technical sales support for tools used in CNC routers, panel saws, edgebanders, and other automated woodworking and composite machining systems
- Recommend tooling strategies to improve edge quality, extend tool life, and increase machining efficiency
- Prospect new business within both the woodworking trades and the aerospace composite machining sector, particularly where abrasive materials require high-performance tooling
- Travel 25%–50% to visit customers, conduct tooling assessments, attend trade shows, and maintain a strong presence in the field
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business, engineering, or a technical discipline
- 10+ years of experience in cutting tools sales, with expertise in tooling for wood, composites, and aerospace manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of carbide tooling and diamond tooling for machining wood, engineered panels, and abrasive composite materials
- Demonstrated experience working with furniture producers, sawmill operators, custom woodworkers, architectural millwork firms, and composite fabricators in the aerospace industry
- Familiarity with machining carbon fiber, fiberglass, thermoplastic composites, and other aerospace-grade materials
- Excellent communication, consultative selling, and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated, well-organized, and capable of thriving in a remote, travel-intensive role
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base Salary: $100,000
- Bonus: 25% annual performance-based bonus
