Our client, a leading CNC machine tool builder, is seeking a skilled and strategic Product Manager to lead the development and lifecycle management of their high-precision 5-axis CNC milling machines. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of multi-axis machining solutions used across demanding industries such as aerospace, medical device manufacturing, and precision engineering.

As Product Manager, you will play a key role in defining product strategy, aligning features with customer needs, and working cross-functionally with engineering, technical sales, and applications teams. Your knowledge of CNC machining centers, toolpath optimization, and the needs of modern machine shops will be critical to driving growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the product roadmap for a line of advanced 5-axis CNC milling centers, ensuring alignment with market trends and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with R&D and applications engineering to define and refine machine specifications, including spindle options, table configurations, and automation readiness.
  • Engage directly with customers, including manufacturing engineers and CNC operators, to gather feedback on performance, usability, and machining challenges.
  • Conduct ongoing market and competitive analysis to identify trends in precision machining and industrial automation.
  • Partner with marketing and technical sales to support product positioning, sales enablement, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Lead product launches with clear messaging, training materials, and support for field teams.
  • Track product performance metrics, including adoption rates, cost competitiveness, and service feedback, to inform future enhancements.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in product management, CNC applications engineering, or technical sales in the machine tool industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of 5-axis milling, multi-axis CNC machining, or high-speed precision milling equipment.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software, G-code programming, and advanced machining workflows.
  • Strong understanding of machine shop operations, including spindle tooling, fixturing, and cutting strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, sales, and marketing teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field is strongly preferred.
