Position Overview
We are seeking a highly driven and hands-on General Manager to oversee multiple CNC and fabrication facilities. This individual will have full P&L responsibility for one or more operating locations and serve as the senior leader on-site, driving excellence across operations, engineering, production, and quality.
This is a highly visible and strategic role designed for a manufacturing leader with strong experience in machine shop management, CNC operations, and team development. You’ll work closely with senior executives and functional leaders across the business to ensure production efficiency, margin improvement, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations of one or more precision machining or fabrication facilities
- Drive accountability for on-time delivery, quality, safety, and cost performance
- Manage and coach cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and quality personnel
- Direct all quoting, scheduling, and materials planning efforts
- Implement and improve production processes, equipment utilization, and ERP scheduling (Shoptech E2 or similar)
- Collaborate with finance, sales, and executive leadership to meet business objectives
- Provide operational leadership in support of complex customer programs
- Maintain compliance with industry and customer-specific standards
- Identify capital investment needs and lead site-level continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership in CNC machining, metal fabrication, or machine tool operations
- At least 3 years of direct P&L responsibility in a job shop or custom manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated success managing production teams and improving operational KPIs
- Strong understanding of CAM software (Mastercam, GibbsCAM, etc.), ERP systems, and quoting tools
- Ability to lead in a fast-paced, low-volume/high-mix manufacturing setting
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline preferred; equivalent hands-on experience also considered
Compensation
- Base Salary: $175,000 – $225,000
- Bonus: Performance-based
