Application Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Application Engineer with extensive hands-on experience in CNC machining, programming, and process optimization. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, providing technical expertise to support customers in industries such as aerospace, medical device manufacturing, and precision machining. The position involves setup, programming, quoting, and process design for turnkey machining solutions, requiring a deep understanding of advanced multi-axis machining technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical efforts in CNC machine tool setup, programming, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Provide hands-on support for machine operation, debugging, and process refinement.
  • Develop and implement custom machining solutions for complex parts.
  • Collaborate with customers to enhance productivity, precision, and efficiency.
  • Utilize expertise in 5-axis machining, B-axis, and multi-tasking machines.
  • Work with turnkey systems, tooling, and fixturing to deliver high-quality results.
  • Support quoting, cycle time estimation, and cost analysis for machining projects.
  • Assist in the installation, training, and technical support of CNC equipment.
  • Ensure optimal machine performance through diagnostics and fine-tuning.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in CNC machining, with expertise in multi-axis machine tools.
  • Proven ability to set up, program, and optimize CNC machines for high-precision applications.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude – ideal for candidates who have hands-on experience with automotive, motorcycle, or mechanical repair hobbies.
  • Experience with Nakamura, B-axis, and Swiss-type lathes is a plus.
  • Background in aerospace, medical device manufacturing, or high-precision metalworking preferred.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software, G-code programming, and CNC control systems.
  • Experience in tooling and fixturing solutions for complex machining applications.
  • Ability to work independently and provide technical leadership in a shop environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machining issues.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly rate: $50 – $60 per hour, plus overtime.
