Sales Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales Engineer with expertise in fiber lasers/fibre lasers. This role focuses on selling high-precision laser cutting equipment to OEMs, component suppliers, end users, and distributors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in capital equipment sales, applications engineering, or laser machine operations.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive sales professional with a hunter mindset who can develop new business, build lasting relationships, and drive revenue growth. The position requires extensive travel to meet clients, conduct demonstrations, and attend industry events.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Business Development:

  • Identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities within the laser cutting equipment industry.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with OEM laser manufacturers, component suppliers, end users, and distributors.
  • Conduct technical product demonstrations and presentations to prospective clients.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure customer needs are met and solutions are optimized.
  • Travel extensively within the assigned territory to meet with clients, attend trade shows, and participate in industry events.

Technical Expertise:

  • Understand customer requirements through site visits and in-depth consultations.
  • Recommend appropriate laser cutting equipment based on customer applications.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to address technical challenges and optimize solutions.
  • Stay updated on advancements in laser technology and industrial automation.

Qualifications:

  • Experience as an Applications Engineer, Sales Engineer, or Laser Machine Operator with fiber lasers preferred – will consider experience with other laser cutting technologies (YAG, Green, CO₂, etc.).
  • Minimum of 5 years in capital equipment sales preferably with experience in the sheet metal machinery industry
  • Knowledge and experience with various types of capital equipment, including but not limited to; CNC laser cutting machines, press brakes, punch presses, shearing machines, and automated material handling systems
  • Strong technical understanding of laser cutting machinery and related components.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 75%.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (Salesforce preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Compensation: $90,000 base salary + commission | 401(k) | Healthcare | Expenses & Car Allowance Provided
