The General Manager will oversee the daily operations of a precision manufacturing shop, managing a team of 17 employees. This role requires a deep understanding of precision machining and grinding processes, with a focus on maintaining and enhancing product quality. The ideal candidate will be customer-focused, driving the company’s success through operational efficiency, employee engagement, and strategic leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all aspects of the precision manufacturing shop, ensuring efficient production of high-quality products.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, including production scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow optimization.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, implementing best practices in precision machining and grinding.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers in the electronics and aerospace industries, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of 17 employees, promoting a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Drive profitability through cost control, process improvements, and strategic investments.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to set and achieve business goals, aligning operations with the company’s long-term objectives.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, preparing reports and presenting findings to the executive team.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in precision machining and grinding, with a strong technical background in manufacturing high-tolerance components. (i.e.: tight tolerance machining, precision machining, Swiss machines, Swiss lathes, Swiss turning, precision grinding, lapping, honing, polishing, super abrasives, diamond tools, Cubic Boron Nitride (CBN) tools, etc.)
- Previous experience managing a precision machine shop or similar manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team.
- Strong customer orientation with a track record of building and maintaining client relationships.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasts, and P&L statements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Benefits:
- Competitive base salary of $125,000 – $150,000.
- Performance-based bonus.
- Possible equity participation of up to 5%.
