Our client, a leading manufacturer in the aluminum industry, is seeking a skilled and experienced Foundry Manager to oversee our foundry operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing high-temperature processes, specifically working with high-temperature textiles, and extensive experience in aluminum smelting and potroom operations. The Foundry Manager will be responsible for ensuring efficient production, maintaining safety standards, and optimizing processes to enhance productivity and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operations Management: Oversee daily foundry operations, including the melting, smelting, and casting of aluminum.
  • High-Temperature Textiles: Utilize experience with high-temperature textiles to manage and improve thermal processes.
  • Aluminum Smelting: Manage and oversee aluminum smelting operations, ensuring optimal efficiency and quality.
  • Potroom Operations: Supervise and manage potroom activities, ensuring safety and efficiency in all processes.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to increase productivity, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of foundry workers, providing training and development opportunities.
  • Resource Management: Manage resources effectively, including raw materials, equipment, and personnel.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain high-quality standards through rigorous quality control measures and inspections.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present operational reports to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in foundry operations, with a focus on aluminum production.
  • High-Temperature Textiles: Proven experience working with high-temperature textiles.
  • Aluminum Smelting: Extensive experience in aluminum smelting operations within the aluminum industry.
  • Potroom Operations: Extensive experience in potroom operations within the aluminum industry.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Safety Conscious: Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in foundry-related software and technologies.
