We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Applications Engineer to join our client’s dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the cutting tools industry, with a particular focus on metal cutting and applications engineering. This role is pivotal in managing key accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving business growth by providing technical expertise and solutions to large volume users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Account Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded. Act as the primary point of contact for all technical and commercial aspects.
• Technical Expertise: Provide in-depth technical support and solutions related to cutting tools and metalworking applications. Assist customers in selecting the appropriate tools and optimizing their usage for maximum efficiency and performance.
• Applications Engineering: Collaborate with customers to understand their specific metal cutting challenges and provide tailored engineering solutions. Conduct trials, demonstrations, and training sessions to showcase the capabilities of our products.
• Sales Support: Work closely with the sales team to identify opportunities for growth within key accounts. Assist in developing and executing account strategies to achieve sales targets and expand market share.
• Customer Support: Provide exceptional customer service, addressing any issues or concerns promptly. Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem-solving.
• Market Insights: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and technological advancements in the metal cutting and tooling sector. Share insights with the team to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
• Reporting: Maintain accurate records of account activities, sales forecasts, and technical support provided. Prepare regular reports for management, highlighting key achievements and areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Proven experience in the cutting tools industry, with a focus on metal cutting and applications engineering.
• Technical Skills: Strong expertise in metalworking, including tool selection, optimization, and troubleshooting. Familiarity with the latest advancements in cutting tools and machining processes.
• Account Management: Proven track record of managing key accounts, particularly large volume users, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term relationships.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
• Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing customer needs.
• Travel: Willingness to travel as required to meet with key accounts and attend industry events.
