Search underway for a Logistics Director. This position will be responsible for directing and overseeing operations within the company’s logistics department.

Director of Logistics Responsibilities:

  • Manage budgets
  • Manage customer delivery chain
  • Fuel program management
  • Fleet program management
  • Oversee transportation staff
  • Scout for inefficiencies – looking for ways to improve the transportation process
  • Delivery route optimization
  • Oversee distribution transfer network
  • Maintain both internal and external relationships
  • Monitor Inventory
  • Update and develop process documentation
  • Eliminate the non-value-added services

Logistics Director Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA preferred
  • At least 7 years of experience in logistics management and 3 years of experience in managing logistics staff
  • Previous management experience within logistics and transportation
  • Experience and knowledge of Descartes
  • Excellent communicating skills in both oral and written form
  • Negotiating skillfully to arrive at agreements that benefit the company
  • Strong business acumen for effectively managing the costs and revenues
  • Ability to anticipate market and client opportunities and respond appropriately
  • Self managing and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
