Search underway for a Receiving Manager. This position will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse receiving department including overseas containers, domestic supplier shipments and intercompany warehouse transfers. The successful candidate will have experience managing a team of warehouse associates and providing them with training to succeed in their roles.

Responsibilities:

  • Partnering with the Distribution Manager to develop an effective and an efficient operating rhythm for the incoming shipments and transfers; monitoring processes and progress and achieve operational goals
  • Supervising receiving associates; creating work schedules for freight receiving and put away crews
  • Planning and delegating daily work assignments and deadlines; training employees and providing continuous feedback and coaching to ensure employees are successful and productive
  • Assisting warehouse associates in locating parts, assigning correct location to incoming parts, bin location maintenance and checking for inventory accuracy
  • Checking incoming freight for proper counts, codes and labels, updating records and reports, managing the operation budget for receiving supplies, etc.
  • Supervising all inbound shipments to ensure they are correct and carried out in a timely fashion
  • Monitoring shrink levels and ensuring practices are in place to reduce damages and loss
  • Managing inventory transfers coming from other warehouses; rerouting transfers where applicable and adding correct totals to inventory
  • Ensuring all employees adhere to all OSHA and the company’s safety and compliance standards; providing a safe and a hazard-free environment for all employees; safely operating warehouse equipment such as a cherry picker, stock picker, and forklift
  • Ensuring all warehouse associates are complying to company policies and procedures
  • Provide reporting as necessary
  • All managers are expected to ensure physical inventory levels are optimal by assisting in cycle counts and perform other related duties as required and assigned

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • At least 4 years of experience in a warehouse, distribution, shipping or receiving
  • At least 2 years of management experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, rapidly growing, and geographically distributed environment
  • Knowledge of WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), WTS (Warehouse Transportation Systems), VTS (Vehicle Tracking System), VRS (Vehicle Routing Systems) or other Shipping and Receiving systems
  • Strong technical skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to communicate effectively clearly and concisely with others
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively solve problems, think for themselves and create practical solutions to complex analytical and organizational challenges with little oversight
  • Strong time management and organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects to get things done; ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines
  • Flexibility to work variable schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays
